“STAYIN’ ALIVE” CANADA

NOVEMBER 5, 2016

STAYIN’ ALIVE is the largest and most definitive production of its kind, offering big screen video clips, photos and dazzling imagery. With their six-piece band, they will be singing such blockbusters as “Night Fever, “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Stayin’ Alive.” They also include softer poetic ballads such as “I Started a Joke” and “To Love Somebody.” This Canadian tribute band has performed throughout Europe and the United States, including Disney World.

 

WISCONSIN SINGERS

Every SINGERS show is a celebration of good times and great music.

Featuring the top talents of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WISCONSIN SINGERS entertains more than 40,000 annually with stellar voices, stunning choreography and spectacular big band sound. SINGERS draws students from a variety of majors across campus who have a passion to perform and enjoy the fun of sharing the stage in communities across the state and nation as “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill” for the UW since 1967. Our VAHS choral jazz group will  open the concert.

 

GRIEG CHORUS AND STOUGHTON NORWEGIAN DANCERS

Our first afternoon concert will feature the all male GRIEG CHORUS from Madison, and the STOUGHTON NORWEGIAN DANCERS. The Edvard Grieg Chorus takes its name from the famous Norwegian composer and many of whose compositions are included in their repertoire. The Chorus was founded on January 26, 1925.   Their program includes Norwegian, patriotic, spiritual and Broadway music.

The STOUGHTON NORWEGIAN DANCERS is a group of Stoughton High School students who perform authentic Scandinavian dances. The group began in 1953 with their first appearance in the Syttende Mai parade. Today they share their talents all across the United States entertaining young and old and leaving an increased awareness of their Norwegian heritage.

 

CLASSIC NASHVILLE ROADSHOW WITH JASON PETTY AND KATIE DEAL

We welcome back Jason Petty, who brings Katie Deal with him to sing the classic hits honoring the most beloved country greats.   CLASSIC NASHVILLE ROADSHOW features renowned duets, such as Golden Ring, Jackson and Mississippi Man, and poignant tunes like

Crazy and He Stopped Loving Her Today. You will recognize songsmade famous by Dolly, Patsy, Tammy, Hank, Georgeand many more. Jason Petty received the Obie Award for his Off-Broadway performance as Hank Williams in Hank Williams’ Lost Highway.

Katie Deal is well known for her authentic portrayal of Patsy Cline and frequently is a soloist with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.
